Haiku present an image (two rather, and not necessarily visual) without explaining or interpreting anything. Without thinking, as they would say in Zen.
Senryu are any poem in the haiku-format that are not haiku. Most are funny poems about the human condition, or about animals doing silly things, but they can be about anything (sci-fi-ku, etc.).
That’s how I see it.

aj3d – That is a very helpful distinction. Clearer than I have found elsewhere. Thanks.

This one works, and I think you’re right calling it a senryu.
aj3d – Thanks. I am still grappling with the difference between haiku and senryu. What does the difference mean to you?
